- 5 / 5By Alan WongWe dropped our sons off at Skycroft for the weekend and drove around the area for an interesting place for dinner. We came upon this good looking historic inn. It was quite early so we sat at the really cozy bar for a drink first. The bartender, Brian, was really friendly and gave us recommendation for scotch and wine. We both loved our drinks. Friday was oyster night with half shells going for only $1. We had half a dozen and loved the freshness and sweetness. We then tried their escargots which turned out very good, with nice garlic flavor but not too salty. I got prime rib for entree and it was probably too lean for my taste. All the side dishes were good. My wife had a seared rockfish with a crabmeat sauce on top. Now this one is heaven, likely the best rockfish dish we ever had. The fish was perfectly filet and seared to crispy outside. The sweetness of the huge lumps of crabmeat really made the difference. The wait staff was wonderful. It was a truly enjoyable dinner. It also costed less than closer to D.C. We look forward to coming back.November 23, 2016
